Owners Budd Kirby & Michael Cooper, ASID have over 20 years of interior design experience. They approach each new project with one common objective-- to always reflect the client's preferences.

Michael and Budd often use a team approach to their designs, allowing their individual strengths to complement and balance each other. Michael possesses a great sense of order and color, and Budd, whose education focused heavily on architecture, ensures that the space is structurally sound. They both like finding new ways to utilize pieces the client already has and enjoy adding a bit of whimsy in the least likely places.*

Although their goal is for an interior to reflect the client, it is easy to see in each Cooper~Kirby design that color, fabric, furniture, and accessories have been masterfully chosen & applied by true professionals.

In addition to the skills required to create beautiful design, Budd & Michael also possess a great sense of humor and the ability to maintain equilibrium between spouses, who often don't see eye-to-eye on design projects. CKID works with varied budgets and strives to be clear about costs as well as how the design process works.

They have been a part of a number of noteworthy projects throughout the years, some of which include: designing the southern historic Lafayette House, being featured designers in Spectacular Homes of the Carolinas* available at major book stores throughout the country, and participating in The Symphony Guild of Charlotte's Designer House.
